    Vinous 90?

    The 2016 La Violette has a rich and heady bouquet with luscious black cherries and violet scents. It just needs more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe and succulent tannins, a sweet core of black fruit laced with black pepper, but I find the dark chocolate-tinged finish here just too assertive, and it needs more refinement.     Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 La Violette opens with fragrant cigar box, black tea, wilted roses and spice cake scents with a core of warm black plums, black cherries and mulberries plus a hint of star anise. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers layer upon layer of black fruits and floral sparks, framed by firm, very finely grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and fragrant.     STORAGE

    Our wine cellars combine the natural characteristics of an underground wine cellar with state-of-the-art computer-controlled ventilation systems.

    This maintains a humidity level of 65-75% and a constant temperature of 12-14°C all year round. In this safe place, the wine bottles can mature in complete darkness and peace. The cellar is free from foreign odours and vibrations so as not to affect the taste of the wine.
