Tasting Notes
Vinous 92+
A heady, flamboyant wine, the 2017 Insignia exudes textural richness and intensity from the outset. Raspberry jam, blood orange, pomegranate and sweet spices are all seamless in the glass. Sadly, production will be down sharply, around 7,700 cases as compared to 12-15,000 that is the norm.
Robert Parker 91
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley comes strolling out of the glass with easy-breezy notions of Black Forest cake, blackberry pie, cardamom and damp soil plus hints of pencil shavings and bay leaves. Medium-bodied, the palate gives mouth-coating black fruits with plenty of bright, herbal sparks and a grainy texture, finishing long and savory. 4,330 cases were made.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2032
