Tasting Notes
Vinous 87
The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has an ultra-ripe nose with Kirsch and eau-de-vie scents. For me, this was picked a day or two late, consequently resulting in an excessively candied style. The palate is medium-bodied, with grippy tannins and a thick lacquer of new oak that occludes terroir expression and precludes finesse. This is a solid Vosne-Romanée, but I feel it is a bit too extracted. Just not good enough. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
