    Vinous 94

    The 2023 Le Petit Clos (45% Carmenere, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot) from Apalta was aged 18 months in French oak, 35% new. It opens with ripe plum, a touch of violet and soft blackberry, with oak in the background. The palate is smooth and fruit-driven, with a fine texture that is slightly lighter than the previous vintage due to an earlier harvest. It retains depth and a clear, lively expression.     Aromas of rich cassis, carmenere spiciness, tobacco and a touch of chocolate. Nicely fluid, with fine-grained tannins and a long finish. Supple at the end. 45% carmenere, 41% cabernet sauvignon, 11% merlot, 2% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. Drink or hold. [James Suckling, 02/07/2026]

    STORAGE

    Our wine cellars combine the natural characteristics of an underground wine cellar with state-of-the-art computer-controlled ventilation systems.

    This maintains a humidity level of 65-75% and a constant temperature of 12-14°C all year round. In this safe place, the wine bottles can mature in complete darkness and peace. The cellar is free from foreign odours and vibrations so as not to affect the taste of the wine.
