    The 2016 Le Gay has a clean, fresh, slightly gravel-tinged bouquet with ample black fruit, conveying a sense of refinement. The palate is medium-bodied, with soft tannins, a fine bead of acidity, dark berry fruit and a touch of black pepper on the finish. Very fine, and it improves after 20 minutes in the glass, gaining more precision. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting and at Bordeaux Index s 10-Year-On. [Neal Martin, 21/04/2026]

    Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Le Gay has a rock star nose of flamboyant Black Forest cake, crushed redcurrants and lilacs scents with underlying nuances of yeast extract, wood smoke, iron ore and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, the palate truly struts its stuff with generous black and red fruits and a fantastic line of super ripe tannins, building to a very long, seductively perfumed finish.     STORAGE

    Our wine cellars combine the natural characteristics of an underground wine cellar with state-of-the-art computer-controlled ventilation systems.

    This maintains a humidity level of 65-75% and a constant temperature of 12-14°C all year round. In this safe place, the wine bottles can mature in complete darkness and peace. The cellar is free from foreign odours and vibrations so as not to affect the taste of the wine.
