    The 2022 Scrio, 100% Syrah, is once again more a wine of Le Macchiole than anything else. Perfumed aromatics meld into red cherry/plum fruit, blood orange, espresso and cinnamon. Scrio is not especially varietal, but it is quite beautiful. It is also the most changed wine at Le Macchiole in recent years. There s lovely precision and class, qualities that make me very curious so see this in more favorable vintages. The 2022 was aged in 500L and 600L barrels (10% new), wood uprights and a touch of ceramic amphora. [Antonio Galloni, 01/02/2025]

    STORAGE

    Our wine cellars combine the natural characteristics of an underground wine cellar with state-of-the-art computer-controlled ventilation systems.

    This maintains a humidity level of 65-75% and a constant temperature of 12-14°C all year round. In this safe place, the wine bottles can mature in complete darkness and peace. The cellar is free from foreign odours and vibrations so as not to affect the taste of the wine.
