Tasting Notes
Vinous 96
The 2020 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru is perfumed and more floral on the nose. Wilted rose petals infuse the red fruit, then turn more citrus-fresh with blood oranges and overripe Satsumas. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, very harmonious but linear and tightly coiled. This has the tension and energy one seeks in a Clos de Bèze with a sapid finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2029-2060
Robert Parker 96
The 2020 Chambertin-Clos de Beze Grand Cru is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with aromas of wild berries and cherries mingled with dark chocolate, sweet spices, peonies and grilled squab. Full-bodied, layered and velvety, it’s concentrated and multidimensional, with a dramatically textural, perfumed palate and a long, saline finish.
