    The 2021 Volnay Les Santenots-du-Milieu 1er Cru has a simple nose with brambly red berry fruit. It’s a little rustic but clean and fresh with fine delineation. An unprepossessing bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with suppler, more pliant tannins than Henri Boillot’s Volnay Chevrets. Well balanced with lightly spiced red berry fruit. Not a powerful Volnay, yet focused with a dash of white pepper on the finish. This is a lovely Volnay to enjoy over the next 15 years. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. [Neal Martin, 01/10/2025]

    STORAGE

    Our wine cellars combine the natural characteristics of an underground wine cellar with state-of-the-art computer-controlled ventilation systems.

    This maintains a humidity level of 65-75% and a constant temperature of 12-14°C all year round. In this safe place, the wine bottles can mature in complete darkness and peace. The cellar is free from foreign odours and vibrations so as not to affect the taste of the wine.
